President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has secured 200 hectares of land within the Lekki Free Zone to establish an Affordable Housing Materials Hub, a major step in his administration’s drive to reduce housing deficits and promote inclusive development. The project is expected to provide low-cost, high-quality building materials that will support mass housing delivery across the country.

According to the Presidency, the initiative will not only lower construction costs but also create jobs and stimulate industrial growth within the housing value chain. By situating the hub in the Lekki Free Zone, the government aims to take advantage of existing infrastructure, port facilities, and investment opportunities to ensure the project becomes a catalyst for housing and economic transformation.

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing that access to affordable housing is a fundamental priority. He assured Nigerians that the initiative will accelerate urban development, empower local industries, and improve living standards, particularly for low- and middle-income earners.
