President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conveyed his deepest sympathies to President John Mahama, the Government, and the people of the Republic of Ghana following the devastating helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Ghana’s Minister of Defence, Edward Omane Boamah; Minister of Environment, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed; and six others.
In a message of solidarity, President Tinubu described the incident as a painful national tragedy, noting that the loss of such dedicated public servants is a heavy blow not only to Ghana but to the West African subregion.
President Tinubu assured President Mahama and the entire Ghanaian nation that the thoughts and prayers of the Government and people of Nigeria are with them in this time of deep sorrow.
He urged the bereaved families and citizens of Ghana to draw strength from the knowledge that the departed gave their lives in the noble service of their country.
The President prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and asked for divine comfort and strength for their loved ones and the Ghanaian people.
