President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the division of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Kaduna State, into six regional campuses to enhance efficiency, ensure nationwide coverage, and streamline operations.
The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) disclosed this development on Wednesday through its official X account, stating, “President Bola Tinubu has decided to split the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria–Kaduna State, into six campuses to ensure efficiency, national coverage, and smooth operations.”
The new campuses will be distributed across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones:
• Southwest: Akure
• South-South: Osubi
• Southeast: Ebonyi
• North Central: Ilorin
• Northeast: Yola
• Northwest: Zaria (existing main campus)
This strategic move aims to provide specialized aviation training closer to various regions, thereby boosting the country’s capacity to meet its growing demand for skilled professionals in the aviation industry. The decentralized model is expected to enhance accessibility and create more opportunities for aspiring aviation experts nationwide.
The APC commended President Tinubu’s vision, describing it as a forward-thinking initiative that will strengthen the aviation sector and contribute to Nigeria’s broader economic development.
Details on the timelines for establishing the new campuses are expected to be released soon.
