President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to suspend the implementation of the cashless policy at airports.

The decision comes after chaotic congestion and disruptions were reported at airports following the policy’s introduction. The President’s directive seeks to restore order and ensure smooth operations for travellers while the authorities review the policy’s implementation.

FAAN and the Ministry of Aviation have been instructed to manage the situation and prevent further inconvenience to passengers.
