President Bola Tinubu today swore in seven newly appointed ministers to his cabinet during a formal ceremony at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja. This significant addition to the administration follows the Senate’s confirmation of all seven nominees on Thursday, after each candidate underwent individual screening.

The new ministers took their oaths of office in two groups. The first batch included Idi Maiha, appointed as Minister of Livestock Development; Yusuf Ata, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad, Minister of State for Education; and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Following this, the second batch saw Dr. Jumoke Oduwole sworn in as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; and Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment. Each minister’s citation was read aloud by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information at the State House.

This swearing-in marks the culmination of recent cabinet adjustments aimed at bolstering key sectors in line with the administration’s agenda. On October 23, President Tinubu announced a major cabinet reshuffle, reassigning 10 ministers to new portfolios, dismissing five, and nominating these seven new ministers. Today’s ceremony signals the administration’s focus on delivering reforms across critical areas, including livestock development, housing, education, foreign affairs, trade, poverty reduction, and labor.

With the new cabinet members officially in office, the administration is poised to drive forward its agenda to address national priorities and strengthen economic and social development across Nigeria.
