As part of his administration’s commitment to tackling unemployment and driving inclusive economic growth, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI), aimed at engaging 21,000 unskilled Nigerians across the country.
The programme, implemented through the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), builds on the success of the first phase, which empowered over 90,000 Nigerians nationwide.
Speaking during a strategic planning meeting in Abuja, NDE Director General Silas Agara highlighted that the second phase will be fully digitized to ensure efficiency, transparency, and prompt payment of stipends. He also stressed that the skill sets offered will be aligned with local needs to promote sustainability and relevance at the grassroots level.
The initiative reflects President Tinubu’s broader vision for inclusive growth, grassroots empowerment, and practical economic reform, providing meaningful opportunities to underserved communities through targeted, people-focused policies.
