President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has set a target for the Federal Government to provide health insurance coverage to 44 million Nigerians by the year 2030. The move is part of ongoing efforts to expand access to healthcare and reduce the financial burden on citizens.

The plan was announced during the National Health Financing Policy Dialogue held in Abuja, where stakeholders highlighted the importance of achieving large-scale health coverage to meet national and global health goals.

With this initiative, President Tinubu is reinforcing his administration’s drive to deliver affordable healthcare for millions of Nigerians, ensuring that more citizens are brought under the safety net of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
