
President Bola Tinubu is set to participate in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), scheduled to take place from January 12 to 18.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga announced the development in a statement on Friday, noting that the invitation was extended by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“The summit will convene global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and advance socioeconomic progress,” the statement read.
Themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” the event will provide a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and civil society to explore strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and fostering global prosperity.
With a legacy spanning over 15 years, ADSW emphasizes collaboration, enabling multi-stakeholder partnerships to address global challenges and foster growth. The summit will also facilitate high-value agreements and partnerships among governments, industry leaders, and clean energy pioneers to advance the global sustainability agenda.
“At the event, President Tinubu will highlight his administration’s reforms, including initiatives in energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development,” Onanuga added.
During his visit, Tinubu and his delegation will engage with UAE leadership to discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest. Accompanying the President will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
