In a significant diplomatic event, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Nigeria this weekend for bilateral talks with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The historic visit, beginning with Modi’s arrival on Saturday, marks the first by an Indian prime minister since Dr. Manmohan Singh’s 2007 trip.

President Tinubu and Prime Minister Modi will hold discussions on Sunday, focusing on strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two nations. Key areas of collaboration will include trade, investment, technology, energy, and defense.

The high-level talks are expected to culminate in the exchange of signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation in critical sectors.

This visit underscores both countries’ commitment to deepening their strategic partnership and building on decades of mutually beneficial ties.
