The National Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will officially launch the Unity Torch Movement on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Unity Torch serves as a powerful symbol of peace and unity, reinforcing its role in fostering national cohesion ahead of the 22nd National Sports Festival (Gateway Games, Ogun 2025).
“The Unity Torch, which represents peace and unity, will journey through all state capitals across the Federation, heralding the National Sports Festival and spreading the message of brotherhood among Nigerians,” the NSC stated.
The National Sports Festival, Nigeria’s premier multi-sport event, will bring together athletes from across the country to compete in various disciplines, promoting talent discovery, unity, and sportsmanship.
Zonal eliminations have already been conducted nationwide, with state contingents securing spots for the highly anticipated main event.
The NSC reaffirmed that the 22nd National Sports Festival will take place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, from May 16 to 30, 2025.
