President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be in Katsina to personally receive the body of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, which is being flown in from London by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Upon arrival at the Katsina Airport, a brief but dignified military ceremony will be held in honour of the late President. From there, President Tinubu will accompany the remains to Daura, where funeral proceedings are scheduled to take place.

In line with the solemnity of the occasion, twenty-five members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) have been directed to travel to Katsina and fully participate in the burial rites. They are also expected to remain in Daura for the Third-Day Prayers, which will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.

Consequently, the Special Federal Executive Council Meeting initially slated for Tuesday, July 15, 2025, has been rescheduled to Friday, July 18, 2025.
