In a major step toward transforming Nigeria’s higher education landscape, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the launch of a $40 million ICT project aimed at digitizing universities across the country. The initiative is part of the administration’s drive to modernize learning environments, expand digital infrastructure, and enhance research and innovation capabilities in tertiary institutions.
The project, which will be implemented in collaboration with development partners, includes the deployment of high-speed internet connectivity, smart classrooms, digital libraries, and centralized academic databases. It also supports faculty and student training in emerging technologies, including AI, cybersecurity, and data science.
