At the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2025 in Lagos, it was revealed that the government has procured mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles (MRAPs) and other armoured vehicles, while refurbishing over 100 existing armoured fighting vehicles to return them to active service.
Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the president emphasized that security is central to his administration’s agenda, pledging ongoing modernisation of the military through training, upgraded equipment, and enhanced operational capacity.
The administration has also introduced helicopters to Nigerian Army Aviation, expanded pilot training, and deepened partnerships with friendly nations to promote defence research and indigenous production.
