The Federal Government has commenced a nationwide data mapping exercise to identify out of school children, non literate youth, and adults. Anchored on President Tinubu’s DOTS framework which is Data Repository, Out of School Children Education, Teacher Training, and Skill Development, the initiative will provide accurate, real time information to drive targeted interventions in the education sector.
To support this, the Accelerated Basic Education programme has been introduced to reach over 80 million non literate Nigerians, while the National Commission for Mass Literacy (NMEC) has begun enrolling more than 500,000 learners using digital tools linked to the National Identity Management System.
By integrating data driven planning with literacy programmes, President Tinubu’s administration is laying the foundation for inclusive education, skills acquisition, and national development, ensuring no Nigerian is left behind.
