The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to peace, security, and stability as key pillars of the Renewed Hope Agenda. This initiative also aligns with the country’s 4D Foreign Policy Strategy, which focuses on Democracy, Development, Demography, and Diaspora engagement.

During a working visit to the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) in Abuja, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, emphasised the need to strengthen the IPCR to serve as Nigeria’s primary hub for peace research, conflict prevention, and policy guidance. He noted that building the Institute’s capacity will enable the country to develop homegrown solutions to both domestic and regional security challenges.

The government plans to integrate IPCR’s expertise with national and regional priorities, including the Regional Partnership for Democracy (RPD), to address internal peace and security needs and enhance Nigeria’s role in shaping Africa’s collective response to conflicts.
