In alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusive and impactful artificial intelligence adoption in Nigeria.
Speaking at the Nigeria AI Scaling Hub Visioning Workshop hosted by the Lagos Business School and supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Inuwa emphasized that AI is already transforming industries and must be made accessible to all Nigerians, particularly underserved communities.
He unveiled NITDA’s AI Transformation Roadmap, a strategic framework designed to integrate AI into governance through adaptive regulation, smarter policymaking, and enhanced service delivery. Inuwa described AI as a thought partner that can assist leaders in planning and executing decisions more effectively.
The workshop brought together stakeholders from government, academia, industry, and development sectors to co-create strategies for using AI to address national challenges in health, education, agriculture, and more.
This initiative reinforces President Tinubu’s ambition to build a one trillion dollar economy powered by technology, innovation, and inclusive growth.
