The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced a major breakthrough in the construction of the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline as the project successfully crosses the River Niger, one of its most critical and complex engineering phases. The landmark achievement marks steady progress toward the pipeline’s completion, now firmly on track for 2025.
This milestone underscores the impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to unlocking Nigeria’s gas potential and expanding energy infrastructure under his Renewed Hope Agenda. The AKK pipeline, a 614-kilometre trans-regional project, is expected to enhance domestic gas utilization, boost industrialization, and create thousands of jobs across Northern Nigeria.
President Tinubu’s administration has consistently prioritized strategic infrastructure as a foundation for national development, and the AKK project is a cornerstone of Nigeria’s energy transition and economic diversification goals.
Stakeholders across the oil and gas sector have lauded the President’s continued support, describing the progress as a strong signal of renewed investor confidence and purposeful governance in Nigeria’s energy future.
