The Nigerian Air Force under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, backed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strategic direction, has launched precision airstrikes that neutralised a convoy of migrating terrorists along the Kebbi–Zamfara axis. The mission struck approximately 150 motorcycles carrying an estimated 300 terrorists near Yarbuga in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, resulting in scores of militant casualties and a significant disruption of their escape routes.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strikes were executed on July 9, 2025, using real-time surveillance intelligence to identify the convoy. Pilots engaged the targets with devastating precision, forcing surviving terrorists to flee on foot and on motorcycles. Follow-up strikes effectively blocked withdrawal paths and ensured minimal chance of regrouping.

Early the next morning, ground troops advanced into Yarbuga village to assess the aftermath. They discovered the remains of dozens of terrorists, burnt motorcycles, and seized weapons. This coordinated air and ground operation dealt a devastating blow to the terror network in the region and showcased the growing synergy within Nigeria’s security architecture.

This military achievement underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering commitment to civilian protection, suppression of terrorist mobility, and support of ground forces. It is a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s renewed security doctrine, which prioritises intelligence-led operations, rapid response capabilities, and restoring stability in the nation’s most vulnerable areas.
