U.S. President Donald Trump has called on his supporters to remain peaceful in the wake of the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, whose assassin remains at large more than 24 hours after the fatal shooting. Trump, a close ally of Kirk, described the incident as a “tragic and senseless loss” while urging Americans not to take the law into their own hands.

Kirk, 31, was gunned down while speaking at Utah Valley University, sparking widespread shock and outrage among conservatives across the country. The FBI and local law enforcement agencies have launched a nationwide manhunt for the suspect, who fled the scene and has yet to be apprehended.

Authorities say they are pursuing multiple leads as pressure mounts to bring the shooter to justice. Meanwhile, tributes continue to pour in for Kirk, remembered as a vocal advocate of conservative values and a prominent figure in U.S. politics
