Prince William and Princess Kate Win Privacy Case Against Paris Match

Share

Prince William and Princess Kate have won a legal battle against the publishers of Paris Match magazine after the publication shared unauthorized photos and private details from their April family vacation with their children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

A French court ruled that Paris Match violated the family’s right to privacy by publishing the images, which were taken without consent during their holiday. The judgment reinforces the long-standing expectation that members of the British royal family — particularly the children — are entitled to a reasonable degree of privacy during personal time.

Kensington Palace has yet to comment publicly on the ruling, but royal aides described the verdict as a “clear message” against media intrusion into the private lives of the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children.
