Qatar Airways is ramping up its winter operations, adding nearly 3,000 flights to its global network to meet rising travel demand. The expansion includes increased frequencies on key international routes and the deployment of larger aircraft on select services.

Among the major additions, weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur will rise from 14 to 17 starting December 17, while Lagos will see an increase from 10 to 14 weekly services from December 15 through March 28, 2026. Shanghai will benefit from an increase from seven to ten weekly flights beginning January 1. Meanwhile, Singapore flights will feature the Airbus A380 on select services starting January 12, boosting premium seating options.

The winter schedule enhancements extend to over 15 major global destinations, including Cape Town, Dublin, London, Phuket, and Toronto. Notably, flights to London Heathrow will reach up to 10 daily services, marking the airline’s highest frequency on this route.

Qatar Airways cites strong global demand as the driver for the increased capacity, while highlighting improved connectivity through its Doha hub, Hamad International Airport. Many widebody aircraft, including the Boeing 777 and Airbus A350, now offer gate-to-gate high-speed Wi-Fi powered by Starlink, delivering up to 500 Mbps to passengers across all classes.

The airline’s winter expansion provides travelers with greater flexibility, more options on popular routes, and enhanced comfort for premium passengers, particularly on long-haul flights to Asia and Europe. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
