Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni is expected to be sidelined for about a month after the Spanish club confirmed on Wednesday that he has suffered a sprained ankle.
The injury is likely to rule him out of upcoming La Liga fixtures against Osasuna, Leganés, Getafe, and Athletic Bilbao, as well as Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Liverpool on November 27. Spanish media reports suggest Tchouaméni could return in early December.
The France international will also miss his country’s Nations League matches against Israel and Italy on November 14 and 17, respectively.
“Following tests conducted today by Real Madrid’s medical team, Aurélien Tchouaméni has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle,” the club said in a statement.
Tchouaméni sustained the injury during Madrid’s 3-1 Champions League defeat to AC Milan on Tuesday and was substituted at halftime.
