Nigeria has lost one of its most respected Islamic scholars as Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has passed away. The revered leader of the Tijaniyya movement reportedly died on Thursday after a prolonged illness.

Sheikh Bauchi, who was widely regarded as one of the country’s foremost Qur’anic scholars, spent decades teaching, mentoring students, and promoting Islamic scholarship across Nigeria and beyond. His death marks the end of an era for millions of his followers and admirers.

Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by his family, as condolences continue to pour in from religious leaders, public officials, and members of the Muslim community nationwide.
