The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has warned that airlines face growing legal and regulatory pressures worldwide. Fragmented rules on environmental reporting, consumer protection, and AI compliance could disrupt global operations and increase costs.
To tackle these challenges, IATA will host the World Legal Symposium 2026 in Warsaw from February 17–19. The event will bring together industry leaders and regulators to discuss solutions for rising liability issues, including environmental compliance, data privacy, and taxation.
IATA also noted that billions in ticket revenues are trapped in some countries due to foreign exchange restrictions, adding financial strain to airlines already navigating complex regulations. The association emphasized that coordinated global action is needed to prevent rising costs for both airlines and travelers. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
