Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after being denied bail by Manhattan federal Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky. The 54-year-old music mogul has been placed on suicide watch as he awaits trial for serious charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution.
According to sources, Combs was put under mental health supervision as a preventative measure after being described as in shock. Officials cited uncertainty about his mental state, prompting the decision for close monitoring.
Combs’ arrest came late Monday in Manhattan, six months after federal authorities raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. Over the past year, multiple lawsuits have accused Combs of physical and sexual abuse. While Combs has denied many of the allegations, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, stated outside the courthouse that his client would plead not guilty and “fight like hell” to secure his release.
The indictment paints Combs as the leader of a criminal enterprise involved in a range of illegal activities, including forced labor, sex trafficking, drug offenses, kidnapping, and obstruction of justice. It further alleges that Combs physically assaulted women and used his staff to cover up his actions.
One of the most high-profile accusations came in November 2023, when his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of years of physical and sexual abuse. Although the suit was settled in one day, video footage later surfaced showing Combs assaulting Cassie, leading to a public apology from him.
Despite these developments, Combs and his legal team continue to deny many of the claims made by others in separate lawsuits.
