Police arrested at least five protesters on Election Day evening in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood after a demonstration allegedly turned destructive, according to local reports. The demonstration, which took place near 12th Avenue and East Pike Street around 6:45 p.m., saw participants dressed in all black, some of whom reportedly defaced public property and dragged scooters into the streets.

Seattle police issued dispersal orders over loudspeakers, but some protesters continued, marking buildings with graffiti that read “Kill Cops,” “ACAB,” and “Free Palestine.” FOX13 Seattle reported the group appeared unaffiliated with any political party, and police have yet to comment on any specific affiliations.

Radio host Jason Rantz reported that the group, which gathered at Cal Anderson Park at 6 p.m., included activists allegedly organized by “far-left, antisemitic” groups. Flyers around Capitol Hill described actions in Gaza as a “new Holocaust” and called for an end to U.S. funding of what was termed “genocide.”

The identities of those arrested have not been released, but authorities indicated that more information would be made available as investigations continue.
