The Nigerian Senate has approved the appointments of the Chairman and Commissioners of the National Pension Commission (PENCOM), following nominations by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Agbaje Opeyemi Olukayode, representing the South West, was confirmed as Chairman of PENCOM, while Hafiz Muhammad Kawu Ibrahim, representing the North West, was approved as Commissioner (Technical).

Additionally, Samuel Chigizie Uwandu (South West), Charles Efe Sylvester Emukowhate (South South), and Bello Abubakar Malabu (North East) were confirmed as PENCOM Commissioners for Inspectorate, Finance, and Administration, respectively.

The confirmations mark a key step in strengthening the leadership of PENCOM to oversee Nigeria’s pension sector effectively.
