The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Louis Odion as Executive Commissioner, Operations, and Ummusalma Isiyaka Rabiu as Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).

The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report presented by the Senate Committee on Trade and Investment during plenary. The lawmakers commended the nominees for their professional competence, integrity, and commitment to national service.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who presided over the session, congratulated the newly confirmed commissioners and urged them to strengthen consumer protection frameworks, promote fair market competition, and support the Federal Government’s economic reform agenda.

With their confirmation, both appointees are expected to play key roles in advancing the mandate of the FCCPC, particularly in enhancing transparency, enforcing fair trade practices, and safeguarding consumer rights across Nigeria’s diverse economic sectors.
