A Federal High Court has slammed a N5 million fine on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for contempt of court following her satirical apology directed at Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Delivering the ruling on Friday, Justice Binta Nyako held that the suspended senator flouted the court’s directive by mocking the Senate President rather than issuing a genuine apology as ordered.
In addition to the fine, Senator Natasha is mandated to publish a formal apology in two national newspapers and on her official Facebook page.
She is also required to pay the N5 million penalty to the Federal Government within seven days.
