Shettima Represents Tinubu at 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Ceremony

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Wednesday represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day ceremony held at the National Arcade, Abuja.

The annual ceremony, which honours Nigeria’s fallen military heroes, brought together top government officials and national leaders to pay tribute to officers and men who laid down their lives in service to the country.

Also in attendance were the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio; the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun; the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu; ministers, service chiefs, and other senior government officials.

The solemn event featured wreath-laying and moments of reflection, underscoring the nation’s gratitude for the courage, patriotism, and sacrifices of members of the Armed Forces who defended Nigeria’s unity and sovereignty.

Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day is observed annually to honour fallen heroes and to reaffirm the country’s commitment to supporting serving and retired military personnel and their families.
