Authorities in Ogun State have declared controversial singer Habeeb Olalomi, popularly known as Portable, wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials performing their lawful duties.

The declaration was made in a police gazette issued Monday night and shared by the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, at around 10:00 a.m. when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development’s Ota Zonal Office—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were carrying out an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.

During their operation, they encountered an elderly man at Odogwu Bar, a property linked to Portable, who was later identified as the singer’s father. After introducing themselves and requesting the approved building plan, the man informed them that his son was unavailable.

However, moments later, Portable allegedly arrived with a firearm and led a group of nine men in an attack on the unarmed officials. The officials sustained injuries but managed to escape and later reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

While nine accomplices were arrested, Portable reportedly fled and has since gone into hiding. Despite multiple formal invitations from the police, he has refused to appear at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Abeokuta.

As a result, the police obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted.

The Ogun State Police Command has urged the public to assist in his arrest and warned that anyone found aiding or sheltering the singer will face legal consequences. Citizens with any information are encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the command’s official communication channels.
