Six members of the Rivers State House of Representatives have formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), lawmakers announced during a plenary session on Monday.
The defectors, aligned with former Governor Nyesom Wike, completed the transition amid heightened political activity in the state ahead of upcoming elections. The lawmakers who switched allegiance are: Hon. Solomon Bob, Hon. Victor Obuzor, Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, Hon. Cyril Hart, Hon. Blessing Amadi, and Hon. Felix Nwaeke.
Political observers suggest the move could shift the balance of power in Rivers State and influence the dynamics of party politics in the region.
