Six members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers who crossed over to the APC are Hon. Muktar Nasir Kaura (Kaura North), Hon. Nasiru Abdullahi Maru (Maru North), Hon. Amiru Ahmad Keta (Tsafe West), Hon. Bashar Aliyu Gummi (Gummi I Constituency), Barrister Bashir Abubakar Masama (Bukkuyum North), and Hon. Bashir Bello (Bungudu West).

The defection further strengthens the presence of the APC in the Zamfara State House of Assembly and reflects the shifting political dynamics within the state legislature.

No official reason was immediately given by the lawmakers for their decision to leave the PDP for the APC.
