New details have emerged about the tragic death of So You Think You Can Dance alum Joshua Allen. The 36-year-old dancer, who won season 4 of the hit Fox reality competition, died on Tuesday, Sept. 30, after being struck by a train, according to a family member who spoke to TMZ.

Allen was rushed to the hospital following the incident but later succumbed to his injuries. His family has asked fans for “privacy and prayers” as they grieve his sudden loss.

Tributes have poured in from across the dance world, including from choreographer Emmanuel Hurd, who described Allen as “the life of the party” and “a real King,” adding that the thought of him being “with Stephen now” — a reference to the late SYTYCD star Stephen “tWitch” Boss — brought him comfort.
