Polytechnic workers across the country have given the Federal Government a 21-day ultimatum to settle their outstanding arrears or face a nationwide strike.
The workers, under their union leadership, expressed frustration over what they described as government’s persistent neglect of agreements reached in previous negotiations. They noted that the arrears, allowances, and welfare benefits owed to members have created untold hardship, especially amid rising inflation and economic pressures.
Union leaders stressed that the ultimatum serves as a final warning, urging authorities to act swiftly to avoid a total shutdown of polytechnics, which would disrupt academic activities nationwide.
