Nigeria’s Super Eagles have pocketed a massive ₦3.56 billion for finishing third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after defeating Egypt 4–2 on penalties in the bronze medal play-off in Casablanca.

The third-place finish capped a strong tournament outing for the Super Eagles, who showed resilience and composure to edge past the Pharaohs following a tightly contested match that ended goalless in regulation time.

The prize money comes from CAF’s significantly improved reward structure for AFCON 2025, with third-place teams receiving $3 million, which converts to approximately ₦3.56 billion at current exchange rates.

Beyond the financial boost, Nigeria also secured its ninth AFCON bronze medal, further cementing its status as one of Africa’s most consistent footballing nations.

The victory over Egypt not only delivered silverware and pride but also provided a major morale lift for the team and fans, rounding off an impressive AFCON campaign for the Super Eagles. 🇳🇬🦅
