Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Tems has secured her second Grammy Award, winning the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Grammy Awards. The singer’s hit single Love Me Jeje triumphed in a competitive category dominated by Afrobeats stars.
Tems faced stiff competition from Nigerian heavyweights Burna Boy, Asake, and Wizkid, whose joint track MMS was also nominated. Other contenders included Yemi Alade and Chris Brown, whose Afrobeats-infused collaboration Sensational featured Davido and Lojay.
Despite the fierce competition, Tems’ victory further cements her global dominance in the Afrobeats scene, making her one of the genre’s most decorated female artists on the international stage.
This marks her second Grammy win, following her previous award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her feature on Future and Drake’s Wait For U in 2023.
With this latest achievement, Tems continues to make history, showcasing the unstoppable rise of Afrobeats on the world stage.
