Actor Pere Egbi recently admitted that South Africa’s movie industry is currently ahead of Nollywood in areas like technology, funding, and global reach. He praised their progress while highlighting the challenges Nollywood faces.

According to Pere, South African filmmakers benefit from better resources and infrastructure, enabling them to produce high-quality films that attract international audiences. This has set a benchmark Nollywood must strive to meet.

Despite this, Pere remains hopeful, encouraging Nollywood to innovate and improve. He believes with the right investments, Nigeria’s film industry can regain its leading position on the African and global cinema stage.
