The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced it will resume nationwide enforcement of the tinted glass permit policy from January 2, 2026, citing security concerns linked to the misuse of unauthorised tinted vehicle windows.

The Police said the earlier pause in enforcement was voluntary and not due to any court order, adding that motorists had been given time to regularise their documents. Authorities noted that the renewed enforcement is part of efforts to curb crimes such as kidnapping and armed robbery.
