President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, on a one-day official visit to commission and inaugurate major infrastructure projects aimed at boosting economic growth, power supply, and connectivity in the state.

The President is expected to inaugurate several legacy projects executed by the Bayelsa State Government, including road networks, bridges, and a gas-powered electricity project designed to improve electricity supply and support businesses and households.

Among the key projects slated for commissioning are the Yenagoa–Gbaramatu Road, the 630-metre Angiama–Oporoma Bridge, and other strategic road projects across the state aimed at enhancing transportation and opening up riverine communities for economic activities.

Ahead of the visit, the Bayelsa State Government declared a work-free day and ordered the closure of markets, while security was heightened across Yenagoa to ensure a smooth and successful presidential engagement.

The visit forms part of the Federal Government’s broader engagement with the Niger Delta region to strengthen infrastructure development, improve oil and gas productivity, and support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
