President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday assured Nigerians and members of the Armed Forces that the nation will ultimately prevail against all forms of insecurity, emphasising that the sacrifices of the country’s servicemen and women will never be in vain. The President gave the assurance during an interfaith breaking of fast with members of the Armed Forces at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Tinubu commended the courage, sacrifice and professionalism of officers and men of the Armed Forces who continue to put their lives on the line in defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens. He acknowledged the difficult conditions under which many of them serve, often staying away from their families while confronting attacks from bandits and terrorists across different parts of the country.

He noted that the gallant efforts of the security forces have continued to degrade the capabilities of terrorist groups and bandits, assuring them of sustained government support. The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving their welfare and pledged continued investment in modern equipment, intelligence and logistics to enhance their operational effectiveness.

President Tinubu also thanked Nigerians for their endurance during the ongoing economic re-engineering, noting that the sacrifices being made by citizens were not in vain and expressing optimism that the country was emerging from difficult times. He also extended his sympathy to the government and people of Borno State over the recent terrorist attack, while the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Oluwafemi Oluyode, represented by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, commended the President for approvals on salary reviews, allowances, equipment procurement and accommodation for members of the Armed Forces.
