President Bola Tinubu has officially ended decades of risky travel to Bonny Island with the opening of the 37.8 km Bodo-Bonny Road, the first-ever land connection to the oil-rich island.
The partially completed road allows vehicular traffic, replacing dangerous river crossings and expensive air travel. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, praised Tinubu and Minister of Works Dave Umahi for delivering the long-awaited project, describing it as “transformational” for the region.
Residents and local leaders welcomed the milestone, noting that people can now drive from Bonny to Port Harcourt a development expected to boost commerce, improve safety, and drive economic growth. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
