President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap’s tenure as Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) until December 31, 2026.

The announcement was made in a statement released on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Nandap was initially appointed as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with her tenure set to run until August 31, 2025. However, with this extension, she will now continue leading the NIS for an additional year.

According to the statement, Nandap’s leadership has brought significant progress to the Nigeria Immigration Service, particularly in border management, modernization of immigration processes, and strengthening national security measures.

President Tinubu praised her exemplary leadership and urged her to remain committed to the Service’s strategic priorities, which align with his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement further reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting the NIS in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and ensuring safe, legal, and orderly migration.

Mrs. Nandap, who began her career in the Nigeria Immigration Service on October 9, 1989, will now continue to oversee its operations and reforms for the next two years.
