President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Pastor Tunde Bakare, founder of the Citadel Global Community Church, on his 70th birthday. In a statement issued by Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu lauded Bakare as “one of Nigeria’s most influential voices,” commending his dedication to the nation.
The statement highlighted Bakare’s contributions as a lawyer, pastor, leader, author, advocate for good governance, and politician. “Pastor Bakare has made significant contributions to Nigerian society,” it read, noting his founding of The Latter Rain Assembly, now known as The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC).
President Tinubu joined Bakare’s family, friends, and the Christian community in honoring his profound influence as a religious leader and gadfly. He also recognized Bakare’s patriotic work through the Save Nigeria Group (SNG), where he played a leading role in civil demonstrations during pivotal moments in Nigeria’s history.
The President praised Bakare’s unwavering commitment to advancing important social causes, describing him as a steadfast voice for a better Nigeria. “President Tinubu wishes him robust health and many more years of service in the Lord’s vineyard and in advancing our beloved nation,” the statement concluded.
