President Bola Tinubu has mourned the death of Kano-based business leader, Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, describing it as a major loss to the business community and the country at large.

Abdulaziz, who died over the weekend, was the National President of the Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria and played prominent roles in several commerce-related organisations.

The President said the late businessman’s influence extended beyond Kano, noting that his contributions to trade and commerce were felt across many parts of Nigeria.

Tinubu also recalled the support he received from Abdulaziz during the 2023 election campaigns and highlighted his commitment to national unity through the Patriotic Elders Network for Peace (PENP), which he founded.

He extended his condolences to the Kano business community, the people of the state and the Kano State Government over the loss.

Meanwhile, the President has condemned the killing of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in the Chiranci area of Kano State.

Tinubu described the incident as barbaric, praised the police for the swift arrest of key suspects and directed that investigations be concluded promptly, with those responsible prosecuted accordingly.

The President also sympathised with the bereaved family over the tragedy.
