President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday declared that Nigeria’s economy is stabilising and regaining global respect following his administration’s bold reforms.

Speaking at the State House while hosting the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, and other royal fathers, the President said his government had stopped the “bleeding” in the economy caused by corruption, smuggling, and poor fiscal practices. He cited the establishment of NELFUND to prevent students from dropping out due to poverty and ongoing investments in infrastructure.

Oba Olaoye commended the President for removing fuel subsidy, introducing foreign exchange reforms, and reviving the Oyo–Ogbomosho Road project. He urged government support in power, healthcare, and agricultural research.

The monarch was accompanied by traditional rulers and dignitaries from Ogbomosoland, with Chief Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, also in attendance.
