President Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria following his trip to Cape Town, South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The President arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:10 p.m. and was received by key dignitaries, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Also present were the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Peter Opara.
The 11th BNC session facilitated discussions across eight key sectors: political consultations, consular and migration issues, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, the social sector, mines and energy, and trade and investments. During the high-level meeting, both nations signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements to advance bilateral cooperation.
Established in 1999, the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission serves as a platform to strengthen the friendship and partnership between the two nations.
