President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent attacks in Plateau State and Kaduna State, calling them barbaric and cowardly. He specifically denounced the gunmen assault in Angwan Rukuba district of Jos and the attack on wedding guests in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing these acts as a direct affront to Nigeria’s values.

The President warned that such violence is often intended to spark reprisals and escalate tension. He directed security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and those spreading misinformation that could inflame the situation. He also cautioned some media outlets against portraying the attacks as religiously motivated and stressed that public cooperation, including following evacuation and relocation advice, is essential for maintaining peace.

Tinubu urged security operatives to act proactively on early warning intelligence and ordered the immediate rescue of remaining abductees from Kahir village, noting the safe return of two victims. He commended Caleb Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State, and Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State, for their efforts, expressed condolences to the families of the victims, and assured that the federal government is acquiring advanced equipment to enhance the ability of security agencies to track and neutralize criminals in real time.
