The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has launched a ₦50 billion green bond to finance key environmental sustainability projects across Nigeria. This bold initiative is aimed at tackling climate change and accelerating the country’s transition to cleaner energy sources.
The green bond will support a range of projects including renewable energy development, afforestation efforts to combat deforestation, and the construction and rehabilitation of dams to improve water management and agricultural productivity.
This marks another step in President Tinubu’s climate action plan, positioning Nigeria as a proactive participant in global environmental solutions while also improving local livelihoods and building resilient communities.
