Nigerian sprint star Tobi Amusan did not advance to the final of the Women’s 100m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She finished third in her heat with a time of 12.55 seconds, which was not sufficient to qualify as one of the best losers.
Amusan’s performance, placing her ninth overall, was a significant disappointment for Nigeria, which had high hopes for her success.
The women’s 100m hurdles semi-finals were highly competitive, with just 0.01 seconds separating the top two finishers. American Kendra Johnson won with a time of 12.34 seconds, closely followed by defending Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico, who clocked 12.35 seconds.
